Which may explain how our compact Elantra ended up with so much room inside that its classified as a mid-size car by the EPA, the same as a Lexus ES 350. Best of all, we were able to fill Elantra with big car features at a small car price. Theres an iPod-ready audio system with 6 speakers. Power windows, door locks and heated mirrors. A center console with a large storage compartment and armrest. And premium details like blue backlit illumination of the gauges. Most impressive of all, Elantras standard safety features include six airbags. Anti-lock Braking System (ABS) with Electronic Brake-force Distribution. Electronic Stability Control (ESC) with Traction Control System (TCS). Active front head restraints and more. Elantra even comes standard with a Tire Pressure Monitoring System. All this and backed by Americas Best Warranty, including a 10 year/100,000 mile Powertrain Limited Warranty and 5 year/unlimited miles Roadside Assistance. Yet with an EPA-rated fuel economy of 26 MPG city/35 MPG highway, it sips gas like like a small car. Think about that, as you size up Elantra against Honda Civic and Toyota Corolla.
